Name the most Re-watchable movie in history
I’ve got an A-F rating system for movies. It’s a rare movie that draws an A, and rarer still for one to get an A+ rating, which for me means I would turn around and go right back in the theater and watch it again. We don’t go out to movies that often any more, and usually just for the kind of big-screen spectacle that demands the full theater experience. My most recent A+ movie was A Wrinkle in Time which for a number of timely reasons knocked me sideways and rendered me into a blubbery mess by the time we walked out. Can’t wait to take that one in again!
The first movie that hit me that way was Rain Man. Ok, I had a thing for Tom Cruise. I had a thing for Dustin Hoffman as well. The scene where the two of them come down the elevator in Las Vegas in their fine suits, ready to count cards… that just killed me. I saw that movie three times over a two week period. I’m ready to see it again!
The full Casino scene below. I always feel a bit like Raymond in Las Vegas — completely and totally overloaded by the surroundings.
And then there’s the famous airport scene, in which we learn that Quantas never crashed, and that you can’t push Raymond around.
What’s your A+ movie? What scene made it memorable for you?
